Bringing out your inner rebel

Bringing out your inner rebel

As adults we can often struggle with having fun. Feels like work to organize. One more thing on the to do list. Who has time? Who has energy?

Yet, we know, the rewards of fun are huge. Even - or especially - when we have lots on our plate. Catherine Price, author of The Power of Fun: How to Feel Alive Again, encourages us to incorporate more fun into our days simply by being a little rebellious.

Now don’t get us wrong - we’re not talking about doing anything illegal, or unethical, or unsafe. Just something out of the norm for you. Something that can help you to not feel constrained by your usual routines and expectations.

Need some examples?

  • Go to a different coffee shop than the one you usually frequent
  • Read something for pleasure, not for work, during the work day
  • End your day early and go to a movie (and ideally, bring along a friend who is also skipping out early!)
  • Have breakfast for dinner
  • Dance in your kitchen
  • Bonus points: Dance in your office!

We all have an inner rebel. She just needs a bit of permission to come out once in a while. Hope you can connect this month with yours!
