Episode 9: Documentation is not the enemy!

Episode 9: Documentation is not the enemy!

Have you ever thought of documentation as a form of self-care? Of course, probably not! We know that more likely, documentation often feels like a time-consuming, mentally draining task that takes away from the work you truly care about. But we are here to try to convince you that documentation can actually be a key part of our self-care.

This past February during Psychology Month we had the opportunity to partner on a webinar with the fantastic Dr. Maelisa McCaffrey. Maelisa is a psychologist and founder of QA Prep, which is a business she started a number of years ago to help support therapists with their documentation.

During this webinar with Maelisa, we also shared our thoughts on how our 4 C’s model can apply to something like documentation, and how documentation truly is so foundational to our self-care. In this week's podcast episode, we are sharing with you this excerpt from the webinar.

Whether documentation is a challenge for you or not, we hope these ideas will help you start to think more intentionally about the link between your self-care and this key task of our work.

Episode highlights:

  • How documentation fits into self-care
  • How normal it is to struggle with documentation
  • Applying the 4 C's to documentation
